The upcoming High Point Furniture Market is expected to draw thousands of visitors from different parts of the countries and the National Home Furnishing Association will be taking the opportunity to educate attendees of the event on industry-related topics.
The association announced its plan to hold 24 educational seminars recently. These seminars will target people in the industry looking to improve their business practices for better chance at success.
The seminars will be held at the Retailer Resource Center from April 7 to 10. The RRC is usually home to exhibitors specializing in areas like advertising, financing, software, training, store design, and others.
Attendees who will take advantage of these free seminars will also be treated to free food, beverages, and access to the World Wide Web. These will be provided by CyberCafe and Sports Pub.
One of the free seminars will be hosted by Philip Gutsell of GutSELL & Associates. The said seminar will be titled Growing Your Business When Facing Challenging Conditions. Gutsell will be talking about seven strategic steps to help even small players in the industry achieve success.
According to the organizers of the said seminar, Gutsell will be naming some of their clients which have been successful in their field after observing these seven steps. The introduction of these clients will be beneficial to attendees in the sense that they will have a concrete example of how these steps will be able to help them. Gutsell will take the stage on Monday, April 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning.
Martin Roberts from GRID2 will then take the floor from ten to eleven o'clock on the same day. Roberts will be tackling the twelve steps which retailers can put into action to cope with the declining sales brought about by the slump in the economy.
After that, John McCloskey of Profitability Consulting Group will be talking about the importance of moving goods on a budget. The said seminar will be tackling the impact of cheap imports on the furniture market in the country.
These are just some of the seminars which are geared towards educating industry players. This includes manufacturers and retailers of furniture pieces and fixtures such as ceiling lights.

Welcome to Centerburg! Where you can win a hundred dollars by eating all the doughnuts you want; where houses are built in a day; and where a boy named Homer Price can foil four slick bandits using nothing but his wits and a pet skunk...
It's not easy for duck parents to find a safe place to bring up their ducklings, but during a rest stop in Boston's Public Garden, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard think they just might have found the perfect spot--no foxes or turtles in sight, plenty of peanuts from pleasant passers-by, and the benevolent instincts of a kindly police officer to boot...
"As we follow the story of Sal and his lost tooth we feel as refreshed as though we had spent a day with his family on their island."--Saturday Review. Caldecott Honor Book. Full-color illustrations.
Confused survey: Do you understand this quote by Robert McCloskey?
“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”
I don't get it LOL. Help!
“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said,
(this means that the person truely thinks that he got what the said, but the 'i think' suggests its not correct)
'but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”
this means that the person doesnt understand that he has misinterpreted what the man actually says
